REMÆR X Juan Blanco

In collaboration with artist Juan Blanco, unique shirts are created that seamlessly blend art and design. Through his exploration of natural phenomena, ecology, and human perception, they form a distinctive fusion of artistic reflection and wearable aesthetics.
Blanco (*1988) studied Fine Arts at the Universidad de los Andes (B.A.) and the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel (M.A.). His work spans graphics, painting, and installation, focusing on the interaction between images and nature. Ecology, digital and analog perception, and spatial orientation are key themes in his artistic practice.
Since 2011, he has exhibited internationally and occasionally curated exhibitions. He has organized shows in art spaces such as La Quincena (Bogotá, 2011) and 101 Project Space (Berlin, 2021). In 2018, he co-founded the collective MCWW, which explores new forms of institutional critique and examines the circulation of images on the internet. This project has been featured in seminars and exhibitions, including at the Stadtgalerie Kiel and a symposium at Linz University.
For his artistic contributions, Blanco received the DAAD Prize (2019) and the Berlin Senate Grant for Art Spaces (2022). From May to September 2024, he was a resident at Künstlerhaus Lauenburg, and since October 2024, he has been working on a residency at Tangent Projects in Barcelona.
His art reflects the relationship between humans and nature, the perception of the unknown, and human vulnerability. These themes are embedded in the designs of the shirts—a perfect balance of artistic expression and wearable art.
