Juri Sternburg x REMÆR

Juri Sternburg is a writer and playwright based in Berlin-Kreuzberg. He’s been writing for theatre, film, and television for many years. His work moves between social observation and personal experience, written with precision and a sense for what language can hold.

He first gained recognition with his debut play Der Penner ist jetzt schon wieder woanders, which won the Stückemarkt at the Berliner Theatertreffen in 2011. Since then, he’s written numerous plays, radio pieces, and books, including the SPIEGEL bestsellers Germania and King of Rap.

As a screenwriter, he co-created the series ASBEST and Die Zweiflers, which premiered at the Cannes International Series Festival in 2024 and received several awards, including “Best Series.” In Germany, it went on to win the Grimme Award and the German Television Award.

His new play East Side Story - A German Jewsical will premiere at Berlin’s Maxim Gorki Theater in December 2025.

For REMÆR, Juri created a shirt born from conversations about heritage, identity, and everyday life. In the contradictions that shape us, he finds strength and a space where art can begin. This piece brings his perspective into a new form: personal, honest, and close to what moves him.
